Multisorb’s Complete Sorbent Solution
The StripPax® System is your turnkey solution; it combines the advantages of StripPax® Sorbent Packets with the proven reliability of our Active-Pak Automation (APA) dispensing equipment. StripPax® are designed to remove moisture and/or volatiles from your package headspace to promote product stability. Able to keep up with the fastest packaging line speeds, our dispensers are compatible with a variety of packaging line configurations, including horizontal flow wrappers, VFFS, bottling lines, thermoformed pouching and other layouts. We use only the highest quality sensors, drive mechanisms, and cutters. With optional splicing station cabinets, the APA dispenser does not need to stop to refill the sorbent packets, offering uninterrupted dispensing. All of these capabilities add up to higher efficiencies for your packaging operations.

StripPax® are compact, extremely durable, non-dusting sorbent packets uniquely designed in strip form for fast, automated loading by Multisorb's series of APA dispensing equipment. StripPax® features include:

  • Superior packaging material – Uncoated, welded, medical-grade Tyvek®, an extremely tough durable non-woven material made from 100% pure high density polyethylene fibers (HDPE)

  • High strength – Superior strength and virtually puncture proof, eliminating the risk of leakage and product contamination

  • High permeability – Moisture, gases and volatile gases/odors pass easily, providing for high absorption

  • Non-dusting, lint-free – Dense Tyvek fibers form a tight barrier, preventing desiccant dusting. The stable, abrasion resistant surface will not contaminate the product with lint

  • Wet strength – Unaffected by water or moisture and is as strong wet as it is dry. It will not rot or mildew

  • StripPax® won’t damage tablets – Packets are soft and flexible; unlike hard, rigid canisters, they will not damage tablets or caplets

  • FDA/EMEA and USDA status – StripPax® products are fully supported by a Type III Drug Master File

  • Sized to fit – StripPax® are available in a wide variety of sizes

  • Compact – the low profile and compact shape of StripPax® packets saves space and displaces a minimum amount of product. Its flat contour eliminates any potential confusion with a capsule or tablet, and associated adverse event reports resulting from accidental ingestion

APA Benefits

  • Accurate – Positive verification of placement in every container/package. Every packet is measured prior to initiating the cutting sequence to prevent open packets

  • Reliable – Rugged design and construction for dependable 3-shift operation. Fewer moving parts than traditional mechanical drive systems require less maintenance

  • Flexible– Configurable for various packet types, bottle sizes, multiple drops, etc. with user friendly operator controls

  • Fast and Easy – State-of-the-art Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) allow for easy set-up and operation, as well as seamless integration with other pieces of equipment on the line. Pre-programmed bottle/StripPax®/ dispense speed setups are available for each StripPax® product for operator convenience. Speeds up to 300+ packets per minute – among the fastest, most accurate, systems available

Features and Options
Multisorb’s StripPax absorbing packets contribute to the stability profile/shelf life of many products within their packaging. Consequently, the packets’ capacity must be protected during packaging operations to prevent capacity loss. Like no other dispensers available, Multisorb’s APA series of StripPax dispensers are available with packet spool supply systems that can be purged with optional dry-air or nitrogen equipment, including:

  • APA–1000CG or APA-1000CB Low-Speed StripPax® Dispensers
    • Optional spool packet enclosure

  • APA-1500 Mid-Speed StripPax® Dispenser
    • Standard motorized Spool Unwind Cabinet or optional motorized Spool Splicing Station Cabinet.

  • APA-2000 High-Speed StripPax® Dispenser
    • Standard motorized Spool Unwind Cabinet or optional motorized Spool Splicing Station Cabinet.

  • APA-4000 Twin-Head, High-Speed StripPax® Dispenser
    • Dual packet in-feed via standard motorized Spool Unwind Cabinets or optional motorized Spool Splicing Station Cabinets.

Easy to Convert to the StripPax® System
StripPax® packets in strip form cost up to 50% less than the equivalent size canister. This means, depending on your annual requirements, you could pay for the dispensing equipment out of the cost savings you realize from switching to packets in as little as one year.

US-FDA Compliance – StripPax® packets have a Type III Drug Master File (including canister to StripPax® equivalency data) on file with the
US-FDA, so changeover is easy and fast. A change from canisters to StripPax® can be implemented immediately under the US-FDA Packaging/Desiccant CBE Reference Guidance Document using a CBE notification for approved ANDA and NDA drug products. Such a change would be subsequently supported via stability data in your Annual Report.

However, many pharmaceutical companies have made their change from canisters to StripPax® and simply stated it in their Annual Report to the FDA (with Multisorb equivalency data available upon request.)
