Multisorb to Feature Oxygen Absorbing Systems at AMI Expo
Chicago, Illinois – April 2011
Retains the Color, Flavor, and Freshness of Meat Products
Multisorb Technologies (Multisorb), a global leader in active packaging technologies, has announced that it will feature its line of active packaging systems for the meat processing industry at the 2011 American Meat Institute (AMI) Expo. Multisorb's line of packaging systems, which combine its proprietary sorbent devices with its Active-Pak Automation (APA) dispensing systems, will keep your meats looking brighter, tasting fresher, and lasting longer.
"For 50 years, Multisorb Technologies has been working with a variety of segments of the food industry to provide improved product shelf life, quality, and taste via our Active Packaging solutions," explains Robert Sabdo, Business Development Leader, Food and Beverage Packaging, Multisorb Technologies. "These solutions have resulted in increased sales and profits for our customers."
Consumer satisfaction undoubtedly drives sales and profits, and discriminating consumers expect to see meats of the highest quality on their grocer's shelves. Exposure to oxygen can cause rapid degradation of the meat's quality and freshness. Removing free oxygen from the product packaging will increase product shelf life and help meat to retain color, nutrients, texture, and flavor.
Processors looking for an innovative approach to oxygen reduction need look no further than FreshCard: a revolutionary oxygen absorber with the active material built right into a flat profile card. This multifunctional sorbent can double as a support card and can be printed on both sides in up to four colors - perfect for advertising.
The FreshCard System is a turnkey solution that incorporates FreshCard with Multisorb's FreshCard dispenser, APA-5000. The APA-5000 dispenser uses stacked feeding and can dispense at a rate of up to 200 cards per minute.
The FreshCard system is perfect for processed, smoked, and cured meats such as beef jerky, sliced pepperoni, and bacon bits.
Processed, smoked, and cured meat processors will also appreciate the results they get from Multisorb's FreshPax® oxygen absorbing packets. FreshPax® packets have been proven to extend the shelf life of oxygen-sensitive products. FreshPax® packets irreversibly absorb and maintain oxygen inside sealed packaging to less than 0.01%. This results in the elimination of preservatives and the retention of flavors, color, aroma, and quality. Multisorb Technologies provides the complete solution when FreshPax® packets are combined with FreshPax® dispensers.
Multisorb offers many dispenser options that will seamlessly integrate with your specific packaging line. Along with the FreshCard dispenser, three FreshPax® dispensers will be displayed at AMI: APA–500, APA–1000 and APA–3500.
FreshPax® dispensers have an integrated spool mount. Additionally, the dispenser intelligently measures each packet and compares the measurement to the programmed specifications, eliminating errors in cutting. The system is also able to detect when the end of the spool has been reached. Of particular importance is the ability of FreshPax® dispensers to verify delivery of the packet into each consumer package. FreshPax® dispensers have been successfully integrated into a variety of packaging lines.
In addition to the FreshCard and FreshPax® Systems, Multisorb will be presenting MAPLOX. MAPLOX is an easy to use, low oxygen packaging program that maintains refrigerated fresh meat in prime condition. Elements of the program include customized FreshPax® CR packets and a FreshPax® CR dispenser. Retain meat freshness, color, and flavor from the master bag to the shopping bag with MAPLOX.
